Athens’s Embassy of Canada Political Counsellor and Public Affairs Officer Visit FEP Party Headquarters

On Thursday 24th November 2016, Political, Economic and Public Affairs Counsellor Julie Croteau and Political and Public Affairs Officer Zoe Delibasis from the Embassy of Canada in Athens visited the Friendship Equality Peace Party’s Headquarters.
The visitors were welcomed by FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus, Acting President Ahmet Kara, Vice Presidents Ozan Ahmetoglu and Leyla Salihoglu and Secretary General Aydin Ahmet.
During the meeting FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus informed the visitors about the establishment of the FEP Party, its objectives and the struggle given for rights. He also stated that there reason for politics is to serve the country, however the antidemocratic 3% country threshold applied to independent candidates obstructs them from doing so. He also stated that governments were reluctant to engage in dialogue about minorities and that laws concerning the minority were enacted without consulting the minority. In addition, FEP Party’s Executives referred to the minority’s chronic social and cultural issues and those in the field of Muftis, denial of ethnic identity, foundations and economics. Share
