On Friday 16th December, Friendship Equality Peace (FEP) Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus visited Venna village and carried out Friday prayer with the residents.
After Friday prayer, FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus after Friday prayer addressed the residents. He began his speech by greeting the residents and thanked them for their sorry for what happened during the FEP Party and Greek Helsinki Monitor’s event in Athens at the Journalists’ Union during which the ‘ National Minorities in Greece and Recommendations from International Organisations’ conference was invaded by racist Golden Dawn MPs and sympathisers. Mustafa Ali Cavus stated that ‘such actions will not prevent us from telling the truth, we will continue to seek minority rights arising from the Treaty of Lausanne and voice the injustices. It is clear that the Golden Dawn members are confused as they shouted ‘Turks out of Thrace’ and ‘No Turks in Greece’. As the FEP Party we will continue to be the voice of the minority on every platform. For years many problems remain unsolved such as foundations, denial of identity, muftis and the 3% anti democratic electoral threshold for independent MP candidates, wit time these problems have increased. Investigations have been launched because we are telling the truth, the FEP Party has been accused of being ‘racist’, all are to stop us from searching for our rights, but nothing will stop us from tirelessly walking the path we know.
Economically, minority people are in deep crisis, the region needs to be economically developed, door to the public sector need to open to the minority’s educated youth. We wait for the problems to be resolved at once, as we want to serve our country as happy minority members. I thank you for listening.’ Share
