Hasmet Ahmet from Sostis was our late leader Dr. Sadik Ahmet’s common cause colleague, during the struggle for rights of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority he always took his position at the forefront, was the first to sign the petition initiated by Dr. Sadik Ahmet and in 1991 was the founding chairman of the Lippstadt Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association in Germany, where he continued the struggle. Our named hero, Hasmet Ahmet lost his life on Friday 10th February 2017. The Western Thrace Turkish Minority has lost a very important person in its case for minority rights.

As the FEP Party, the death of precious elder Hasmet Ahmet has deeply upset us. May he rest in peace, with a place in heaven. We also share our condolences to his family.

During every visit to Europe, we would visit him and would listen to his memories of the struggle given in the 1980s. We we never forget Hasmet Ahmet, he will continue to live on our hearts.
