President Mustafa Ali Cavus during this visit was accompanied by Acting President Ahmet Kara, Vice Presidents Ozan Ahmetoglu and Ramadan Duban, Secretary General Aydin Ahmet, CEC Members Omer Muzafferoglu, Ali Salihoglu, Ahmet Mustafa, Mustafa Sargo and Ismail Salih, Youth Branch President Murat Ahmet and President Advisor Bahri Belco.

After Friday Prayer, Topiros Deputy Mayor Sunay Huseyinoglu greeted FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus and his associations and on behalf of the people of the region expressed their appreciation for the visit.

Later President Mustafa Ali Cavus addressed the residents. He thanked them for their strong support during the EP elections in 2014 and explained that due to the intense support from the Minority, the party has established good relations with many organisations in Europe and even became members of the European Free Alliance (EFA), which has a group in the European Parliament and whereby enabled the party to table a parliamentary question. He continued ‘we were left in our country Greece with the international Lausanne Treaty, which states our rights and law. However the Greek state does not comply and in addition to not giving our rights, new laws are enacted without consulting with the minority taking our existing rights. Our ancestors brought tolerance to these lands many years but we have been deprived of this tolerance.

As the FEP Party, as long as we have our people’s support we will continue to fight for our rights tirelessly.’

FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus also reminded that for the return of the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority’s rights arising from international and bilateral agreements a signature had begun and thanked the people for their support. Mustafa Ali Cavus also added that the signature campaign continues and that it would be very pleasing for the people of Iliopetra and the Plain region to take ownership of it.
