Dear People,

As the FEP Party and as FEP Party President, we have fought and will continue to fight for the rights of the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority.

Like every Western Thrace Turk, the FEP Party has always conducted this democracy struggle within a law and legislation framework. Although we have repeatedly stated that we do not demand anything other than our rights, some circles with a broad imagination and eager to create virtual enemies are misleading public opinion by denigrating and showing us as a target, thus presenting the FEP Party and Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority as a threat and danger. These attempts are increasing day by day and disturbs the peace of the society.

The FEP Party which gains its strengths from its people, has for a long time been a target for the racist Golden Dawn Party. Now, the Golden Dawn Party has filed a criminal complaint against our Party and me with the Supreme Court (Arios Pagos).

Racist Golden Dawn MP Ioannis Lagos, on 2nd March 2017 tabled a question to be answered by the parliamentary Foreign Minister. Ioannis Lagos, a racist Golden Dawn Party MP not satisfied with this on 9th March 2017, both against me and the FEP Party filed a complaint with unfounded allegations. The Golden Dawn Party claims that I, our party, and Xanthi elected Mufti Ahmet Mete are acting in opposition to Greece’s sovereignty and is besides minority institutions presenting the whole minority as a threat. These claims and accusations cannot be accepted by anybody in their right mind.

These developments demonstrate that there is no tolerance to neither a political party nor its President trying to be the voice of a society who suffers injustices. To this day we have used our democratic right of freedom of expression. As grandchildren of grandfathers who have lost their lives and who have been veterans for this country, we have tried to be citizens of this country. We only demanded our usurped rights, taken from us.

Our sole purpose is to obtain the rights recognised by international agreements and to live as equal citizens while working for the future of our country. We want to live a happy and peaceful life in our country as equal citizens with all who believe in democracy, freedom of expression, brotherhood and peace.

We share with the public that we will continue to work tirelessly and fearlessly until we reach this goal.
