During the meeting, President Mustafa Ali Cavus stated that the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority was entrusted to Greece with the Lausanne Treaty, an international treaty which clearly states clearly the minority’s right. However, the minority’s rights have been usurped and ill intentioned governments have deprived the minority members of their rights by enacting laws without consulting with the minority.
Mustafa Ali Cavus explained that recently that institutions and board members voicing these injustices have been faced with oppression and investigations based on unfounded allegations. These investigations are to intimidate and frighten the minority which is searching for its rights arising from the Lausanne Treaty. The Greek governments pressures are instantly shared with the whole world by minority institutions and that during the EFA General Assembly all the injustices and rights taken usurped from the minority were shared. Also during the meeting, association President Mustafa Kasap explained the problems experienced by Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority members in Germany. At the end of the meeting, President Mustafa Ali Cavus presented Troisdorf Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association President Mustafa Kasap with a framed photograph of late leader Dr. Sadik Ahmet.
