XTU’s general congress on behalf of FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus was attended by Acting President Ahmet Kara, who also made a speech in which he stated because of EFA’s General Assembly Mustafa Ali Cavus was abroad and expressed his wishes of success and greetings. Ahmet Kara continued ‘during the last two years the minority has been through difficult times in which many games have been played against the minority. The best answer to such plots and Byzantine games is for there to be strong solidarity and cohesion within the minority. Deviating from solidarity will help with the games played against us. Therefore it is important that we take ownership of our associations and organisations. The minority has never and will never betray its country. The minority wants to live with its identity and does not want intervention with its identity and culture. When we act within unity and together those who want to intervene with our rights will give up. The European Court of Human Rights decisions which registered the rightfulness of the Xanthi Turkish Union have still not been applied and commitments not fulfilled. I thank the Board members of the Xanthi Turkish Union for services and wish success to the candidates who will be nominated in the General Assembly.

Later, as a result of the elections held at the General Congress, FEP Party Vice President Ozan Ahmetoğlu and İsmet Tüccar and DEB Party Central Executive Committee Member Ali Salihoğlu were elected as Xanthi Turkish Union Board Members. After the elections, following allocation of duty Ozan Ahmetoğlu was chosen as President, İsmet Tüccar as Vice President Ali Salihoğlu as a Board member.
