A year on, I once again condemn vehemently the treacherous attempt which took place on the night of 15th July 2016 in which a group of traitors of the FETO terror organisation infiltrated into the Turkish Armed Forces in a bid to demolish the constitutional order, overthrow the legitimately elected President of the Republic of Turkey and the government so to serve and establish order of imperialist powers.

This treacherous uprising was suppressed as a result of the heroic struggle given by patriotic soldiers, police and especially the Turkish nation to defend their democracy and country. During this struggle, 249 heroic Turkish citizens were martyred and thousands became veterans. On this occasion, I wish mercy from Allah to the heroic martyrs and pray for the healing and well-being of the veterans. We will never forget the patriotic heroes, martyrs and veterans who battle for our Motherland. We are grateful to them. In addition, our compatriot martyr Mustafa Cambaz, a Western Thrace journalist who stood heroically against the uprising attempt is our pride. I wish mercy from Allah to our martyr. May he rest in peace. I pray that once again that a similar situation does not happen in our Motherland Turkey.
