FEP PARTY PRESIDENT MUSTAFA ALI CAVUS ATTENDS WTTTU’s TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

On Friday evening 24th November 2017, Friendship Equality and Peace (FEP) Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus attended Western Thrace Turkish Teachers’ Union’s (BTTOB) celebration event to mark Teachers’ Day on 24th November.
The President was accompanied by Vice Presidents Bekir Mustafa, Ramadan Duban, İsmet Tuccar and some CEC Members and MEP candidates.
Western Thrace Turkish Teachers Union President and FEP Party Secretary General Aydin Ahmet in his speech stated “Western Thrace Turkish Minority is recognized by international treaty but maybe it is the only or rare minority in the world that its ethnic identity unrecognized. As we were entrusted in the care of the country with the Lausanne Treaty and our autonomy in the field of education was guaranteed. However, in the process from Lausanne until today, especially after the Junta Administration the opinion of minority has not been asked. With unilaterally enacted laws the private and autonomous characteristic of minority education has been taken and continue to be taken’’. Afterwards, Republic of Turkey Komotini Vice Consul Osman Sahin took the floor and made speech to mark the meaning and importance of the day and presented a plaque to the former Western Thrace Turkish Teachers Union President Sami Toraman. After the speeches, Western Thrace Turkish Teachers Union’s Turkish Classical Music Choir, Xanthi Turkish Union and Komotini Turkish Youth Union Folk Dance Ensembles together with the adults group offered various shows.
