Our Valued People,

As we leave the past year behind, despite all the negativities in 2017 without losing our hope for the future, we move into a New Year.

As the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority, despite the fact that our rights arising from the Treaty of Lausanne have not been given for years , we are never desperate in spite of all these negativities.

I would like to emphasize that in the new year we expect the termination of the incidents and attempts towards Western Thrace Turks and minority institutions ,which in 2017 reminded us the previous oppressive years and practices .

As a society, embracing tolerance which is the most beautiful heritage of our culture we will love our country in good faith and will contribute to the development of democracy and enlargement of human rights and freedoms. We will endeavour to bring peace and tranquility and serve our country with the majority who understand us and respect our democratic demands and problems.

With these thoughts, I wish you and all mankind a happy new year.. I share the wish and hope of the end of persecution, terror and wars and where peace dominates the world. I hope 2018 to be a year in which people’s hopes grow in which; there are significant developments in the economy, democracy of our country and a year in which friendship, brotherhood and solidarity feelings gain power.
