I would like to emphasize that, according to the news in the press, Pangalos’s words about Turks while speaking to a radio program are unacceptable. As FEP Party President, I would like to remind Pangalos that there are about 150 thousand Western Thrace Muslim Turks who are Greek citizens, born in Greece and living in this country. I remark that his ugly and racist terms are also targeting the Western Thrace Turkish Minority members who are the citizens of this country and they constitute a severe insult to the entire minority.

The reason why, one of the former foreign ministers, Theodoros Pangalos has made his reputation as turcophobe is now clear after those words. It is obvious that such expressions have no contribution apart from planting seeds of hate and hostility among communities. I strongly condemn these statement of Panglasos, which targets Turkish identity and contains high-dose racism and fascism and I would like to declare to the public that we expect an apology for these ugly expressions.
