MESSAGE OF 8 MARCH INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY FROM THE FEP PARTY LEADER MUSTAFA ALİ ÇAVUŞ
15.03.2018-11:49
While celebrating the 8 March International Women's Day, I hope that today the problems and injustices of the women living all over the world are remembered and that to be found a solution for this problem which is a great social wound in some regions.
8 March International Women’s Day based on the struggle of women for better working conditions in America during the 19th century, took an international dimension when the United Nations General Assembly accepted the day 8 March to be called as “International Women’s Day” on December 16, 1977.
Today women are the part of population who has the most share from the war, conflict and tensions. We are witnessing the inhuman treatment of women and children among immigrants and refugees who are seeking refuge in neighboring countries, escaping from the countries and regions where the blood and tears like in the Middle East and Africa are not lacking, and experiencing every difficulty while moving to European countries. At this point, I would also like to mention that the violence against women is increased all over the world in recent years. I would like to express it clearly, taking into consideration that half of the population in the world is female and everybody have given birth by women; violence against women is a crime against humanity and should not be remain impunity. Relieving this social wound is a measure of civilization level for societies. I would like to express our happiness in seeing that our women in Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Community have been taking more places in all aspects of social life in recent years. I would like to emphasize that this is a consequence of the increased importance of giving education to the girls in minority and of the given importance of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority to human values. Also I would like to state that we are very pleased seeing that the women's associations and women branches in our associations are increasing, but it is a pressure of our country, Greece, on the minority woman who could not have associations whose names contain the word “Turk” and still keeping “banned” to open such one. As FEP Party, while celebrating the day of women, 8 March International Women’s Day, in Western Thrace and all around the world with my wishes of health, happiness and success for all women, I would like to share with the public that I hope that the atmosphere of war and terror in the whole world which affects mostly women and children will come to an end.
