Friendship Equality Peace (FEP) Party President Mustafa Ali Çavuş started his speech by greeting all the participants and said that Xanthi Turkish Union is an important nongovernmental organization for the local community. Ali Çavuş reminded that the XTU has lost its official function for many years with the decision taken by the Greek government, and they have been waiting the implementation of the decision taken by European Council of Human Rights (ECHR) since about ten (10) years. Continuing his speech Friendship Equality Peace (FEP) Party President Mustafa Ali Çavuş said that “We can say that not implementing the decisions of ECHR is a bad picture of our country and this shows that our country fail the democracy and also there is no freedom of forming association. Every race is accepted in this country but some people are trying to create a perception that you could not be a Turk. We love our country, we are people connected to this country. I believe that one day XTU will continue to function officially after this just struggle. I wish both our state and government to read the results of this conference carefully.”
