On Friday 11th November 2016, Friendship Equality Peace (FEP) Party President firstly visited the FEP Party Evros Province Branch in Evros’s Megalo Derio village and consulted with village representative Apti Pencal.
Later, the President accompanied the village community for Friday prayer and then addressed the congregation in Megalo Derio Mosque’s garden.
FEP Party President Mustafa Ali Cavus began his address by greeting the residents and expressed his upset in young people leaving the region because of the economic crisis. ‘Young people, brought up and educated with many difficulties by their families are not given opportunities in the public sector and thus are leaving the region which is very worrying for the future of our minority.’ He also stated his sorrow and consternation in Greece not taking any positive steps for the solution of economic and chronic minority problems. ‘From today, we demand as a minority that denial of identity, education, muftis and foundation administration problems are urgently resolved. As the FEP Party we voice these problems on every platform and will continue to so until they are resolved.’ The FEP Party will try every democratic way, within the law to end these problems and injustices. Mustafa Ali Cavus also stated that neither the attack on the 8th December on the FEP Party nor the criminal investigations initiated against them will stop them from telling the truth and speaking up relentlessly to seek the rights of the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority. The President finished his address by thanking the residents for listening. Following his speech he met with the youth in the coffee house. President Mustafa Ali Cavus during this visit was accompanied by Secretary General Aydin Ahmet, Youth Branch President Murat Ahmet and Public Relations Unit Member Ismail Salih. Share
